I am available to provide a service user perspective to the development of policies, guidelines, patient documents and research strategies, and to offer an activist’s viewpoint on mental health issues. I am regularly asked to comment on mental health issues and have shared my views with Sky News, BBC Breakfast, The Sun, the Guardian, BBC Online, MPs, the Department for Work and Pensions, NHS England and the Secretary of State for Health.

  • Review of Mind’s ??? for the NHS 111 service
  • Supporting the Coalition for Collaborative Care as a Public and Patient Voice Expert Advisor
  • Completion of externally funded study for Mind Training and Special Events assessing the impact of Mind training within client organisations with accompanying recommendations for improvement
  • Member of the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) for medicines in pregnancy and Primrose studies conducted by the McPin Foundation and UCL
  • Review of a year’s training evaluations for Mind with accompanying recommendations for improvement
  • Contribution to the development of NHS Southeast’s Suicide Prevention Benchmarking Project and subsequent input into the resulting app
  • Participation in focus groups on a range of topics influencing policy, media strategy and publications development including with MPs, the Secretary of State for Health, senior staff from the DWP and staff from NHS England
  • Review of NHS Employers’ guidance on managing mental health in the workplace
  • Membership of Mind’s Expert Policy Group on mental health and criminal justice
  • Audit of mental health social work activity for a London Local Authority
  • Review of NHS Mental Health Trust Patient Information Leaflets and governance policies
